Default sea fishing what bait from a jetty

the sea as in all ports dwindles down into southampton, went out boat fishing last week pulled in **** loads of sea bream got a few in freezer
got a couple smooth hounds, 7.5 lbs and 12 lbs
we used ragworms and crab for bait

thinking of popping down to the park were the sea is (cobden bridge area) and throwing a rod in

any ideas on some cheap bait?

If you can net some live prawns in the weeds by breakwaters or mooring pontoons, they are one of the best general baits going. I catch all my sea bass on those.
