Rhodium has a higher melting point than Platinum and is also not attacked by acids.
More so, I may sound like I know what I'm on about. But really, I haven't a f**king clue. But Wikipedia has loads of info

PS - Palladium - old TV show, as in "Live at the London Palladium". Is easy to see the difference between ****e comedians and Platinum. I'm surprised you even need to ask.

Show them to a woman, i'd have money she will identify the platinum everytime, probably with her eyes closed.
P.S.
Don't have a clue what rhodium actually is, but if its more expensive than platinum, the platinum is the one that she doesn't choose

wikipedia link above says "Rhodium is a chemical element in the periodic table that has the symbol Rh and atomic number 45. A rare silvery-white hard transition metal, rhodium is a member of the platinum group, is found in platinum ores and is used in alloys with platinum and as a catalyst. It is the most expensive precious metal."

Rhodium is the stuff they plate onto normal gold to make it white gold. Every year or so I need to get my rings re-Rhodiumed.
Why do you need to be able to tell the difference between them? Are you being offered some flakes to buy.....?

if i recall, any precious material (gold silver etc) needs an assay mark, if you try to sell without one you could find mr C&E paying you a visit
could be seen as vat evasion
