HDD video cameras
We had a thread with this title before, so I'll clarify I'm talking about Hard Disk Drive, not High Definition.
JVC seem to be leading the field with the Everio range, and have now released the latest. 3CCDs, 20GB (7 hrs of DVD quality), weighs barely a pound. Normal battery lasts 70mins, better lasts 140. (Can get more but apparently they're silly sizes). Shoots 5MP still photos with some sort of aperture/shutter priority settings as well as full auto.
Anyone any experience or thoughts? I'm extremely tempted.

Never had a videocam before so can't speak from experience, but the HDD route does seem eminently sensible - shoot what you want, delete what you don't want, keep going until full. Seems like film cameras vs digital. Also probably better on battery life as no big motors to wind for tape/DVD etc.
The earlier Everio was criticised slightly as it ran off a microdrive - this seems better.
