2006 - a good year so far?
Just out of interest......
You always hear people saying that a particular was good, or they can't wait to see the end of the year, or "roll on the next year"......
How's 2006 been for you so far?
Personally, on the whole, it's been one of the better years I've had in the last 10.
Down sides?
Dad having a heart attack.
Father in Law ill
Uncle passing away
Up sides?
Dad surviving a heart attack
Father in Law didn't lose his limbs
Uncle passing away painlessly and quickly.
Healthy & loving wife - still there. Which is nice
Kids doing well
Job going well
Of course, with 5 months left of the year, it can all change, but I'm now a firm believer of "positive mental attitude" and to never turn down an opportunity. Also, make things happen. I know it sounds all arty-farty and idealistic, but I've tried this from Jan 1st 2006, and it has served me very well so far.
How about everybody else?
Dan

facing the single life
Good points :
having fun with the single life , getting butterflies befor a date

starting a new life
and got the best friends in the world supporting me
it's all good and very exciting

Been a mixed bag, split with wife at the begining of year after being married for 11 years, but now in a new relationship, managed to keep the house (but you can imagine how much that cost me !) but have a good job, good friends and that new woman in my life, so all in all
p.s. plus the weather is great, been drinking more beer and having more sex than I have for years and been told that I may make the board at work in the new year, so one thumb wern't enough

Good overall:
Very happily married to my gorgeous hubby that I love to bits
Happy & healthy
Love my job
Moved out of a tiny flat
Moving into nice house next to gorgeous nature reserve
Downsides:
Looooong commute to work until house purchase completes
Currently staying with in-laws (really nice people - but not the same as having your own place)
I think sometimes people look for too much to make them 'happy' - it's the simple things that count - nice sunsets, walks in the park etc.
