Question

If you do, any ideas what this screen is saying?

I realise I am opening myself up for barrages of abuse here, such as "user error", "buy an english version you nobber", etc, but if anyone can help I'd be eternally grateful. Well, for a good hour at least.

Nick.

AJBB, I hope you've got a hotmail address or I'm going to have completely confused someone!

Thanks - will let you know how it pans out. Seejay's colleagues may be able to sort something possibly, but...

Nick.

So because I don't know but bothered myself to make an educated guess, I have no brain? Where does that put you in the general scheme of things

Really? Oh excellent, truly wonderful!!!!!!

That makes perfect sense as I have not connected the handbrake sensor cable to anything meaningful, and the thing is only supposed to work when the handbrake is on.

Cheers people!

The power of scoobynet. I'm amazed how quickly this was answered.

I have a fairly massive favour to ask. Is there anyone with enough Japanese knowledge, and goodwill, to try and find a remote control for the ET-S6G in-car LCD TV at http://www.yellowhat.co.jp or http://www.autobacs.co.jp, or http://www.epson-supply.co.jp?

I've managed to find that they're available by running Altavista's translate on this page http://www.i-love-epson.co.jp/products/faq/peripheral/index_ET-S6G.htm but am now truly stuck.

Nick.

Connected the final lead to ground and the message disappears. Wonderful.

Just need the remote control now.

Will pay for translation services?

Cheers Seejay, it should be simple.

If AJBaseBloke could order one to Tokyo, or buy one in a shop, there must be a way of me getting him money and him shipping it to me.

But it's a lot to ask, I know...

Nick,
I've asked a contact who works (in Accrington!)for a Japanese car part manufacturer (unfortunately not scooby parts)if he can help. They have some Japanese guys working there so we may be able to find it for you and even ask them about getting one over. Don't hold your breath and if this doesn't work, I'm at a dead end!

Andrew, 10/10 - I was actually expecting someone to point it out! I cropped it in just that way to give the hint. Bonus points if anyone can name the certificate on the wall (Hint: Magnetic Scrolls).

Seejay: many, many thanks for this. If someone's over there, then apparently there's a chain called "Autobacs" that got stores all over the place, and also one called "Yellow Hat".

I cannot believe how useful Scoobynet is!

Nick.

Nick,
Message back:
"One of my collegues is going to ask his mate at Piolax Japan to get a price.
We have some people flying out to Japan returning end of Nov so they could
in theory bring the remote back .

Is this quick enough ? I presume it depends on price whether we proceed or
not( as I do not know what a ET-S6G ( or a Fabian Bartez - Tee Hee ) does )."

Ignoring the bit about Fab-Man, how does this sound? Have you any idea what the price is.
If you want to e-mail me off the board my addy is in the profile.
