Myself, my boyfriend and my dad all took advantage of the offer in RallyXS magazine to subscribe for a year and get a free Forest Pass for the RAC. I realise that they were limited on the number of these available, but as we already recieve our mag on subscription and therefore get it before it goes into the shops I thought that we stood a good chance of getting the free passes (especially as we sent off the form the same day as recieved the mag).

Wrong.

I phoned today to see what was happening with our passes only to be told that they have no record of mine or my boyfriends applications and that due to excess demand my dad has only recieved a day pass for the Saturday - great

So this is just a warning to anyone else who applied for these, give the subscriptions dept at RallyXS a ring!

I've since bought our passes straight from NetworkQ.

I tried to get in on the offer. Goes something like this...

I e-mailed them on Friday 28th to find out
Reply on Friday 28th @ 3.30pm...

Offer is direct debit only, need to send me a form out. Form will go out on Monday.

No form in the post, so I chased on Wednesday 3rd Oct. Form didn't actually go out on Monday as the lady I'd been speaking to was on holiday (didn't she know that on the Friday? ), I got it on Thursday.

Sent it back the same day 1st class. Forest Pass still available on the Thursday.

I get an e-mail on Tuesday 9th Oct saying just recieved my form (having spent a day in the post room [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] ) and no passes left.

NOT impressed in the slighest. I'm still waiting to hear what the alternative offer is. [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Probably had a few passes and when they had thousands of applications they couldn't afford enough so probably told 90% of the people apply "no".

Load of old tosh.

My dad was so mad when I told him that he rang them and asked how many passes they actually had in the first place, strangely the guy on the end of the phone couldn't tell him. Hmmmmm......

I'd be interested to hear from someone who actually recieved a free forest pass....

....and it goes on! A mate of mine who also did this found out today that he has got not one but two subscriptions to the magazine (and therefore 2 direct debits!) and no free forest pass

WTF is going on in their subscription department?

Utterly overwhelmed when they didn't expect it and now don't know their **** from their elbow.

I supose I should be happy they e-mailed me to ask if I still want the subscription. Still no news on the replacement 'gift' though (9 days and counting)

I reckom it was either a compltete conn or they had 30-40 to give away! (small number of monthly subs).

I won't be subscribing as they are crap at marketing

Having been told on Tuesday 9th October that the Forest Pass offer had run out, I've just been told about the replacement offer:

1 day Rally Sprint Stage Pass for Saturday 24 TH November at Cardiff Bay.

Not exactly much cop when I've already brought a Forest Pass is it?

It's interesting that you've brought this up again cos guess what came through my letter box today? Yes...a copy of RallyXS!!! Seems that they had got me down on their subscription list after all [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] No free pass though [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
