That's because they aren't attending, along with Audi, VW, Skoda, Ferrari, Porsche, Suzuki, Lamborghini, Fiat and Maserati.

Is that because they're not British?

Not sure why they are'nt all attending? Some sort of protest maybe. Mitsubishi are there, Subaru are'nt..................... who's gonna benefit most from that!

Looking at the cost + travelling, I think I could get to the Geneva motorshow for only a little more in cost, and get there quicker (fly vs. car/train)!!!

British Value at its best

Because a lot of Car Manufacturers (or distributors at least) are beginning to question the value of appearing at Motorshows.

Its virtually impossible to quantify how much trade you get from them, and they cost a truly immense amount of money to attend.

Times in the retail motor industry are tough - question of blowing a few mill on attending an event with questionable returns is no brainer.

plus - there is a mini protest about the new event in London - cost, location in the country & transport issuses.

I went to Geneva this year. Stunning show with just about every manufacturer there. Cost me £68 return from my local airport and another £100 for a Travelodge. Might have been slightly cheaper to go to London but nowhere near as good a show, nor as exciting as tripping off to another country. Well, two actually. The London show would cost me IRO £60 in fuel, plus the ticket price which is about £25 (please correct me) whereas Geneva was £8. Parking in London will probably be extra too, and a rip-off. Agree with a protest about the location. I will never travel to London as long as I live as I think the place is a filthy $h!thole and I object to things being solely held there when to some it is a 400 mile journey. Even the Midlands is too far for many so an isolated corner at the bottom left of the country seems wholly unreasonable to me.

i heard they moved the motorshow to london because bmw spat there dummy out,as most of there customers buy down south or summot

there could be some truth in this,as they didnt bother attending birmingham 2 years ago

i'm looking forward to having a good nose around and checking out a few of the more unusual cars if possible

dr hu - i've been to loads of property and property-related shows through work. having worked on a stand at one of them, i can't see any real benefit for us attending another one other than as visitors so if the car manufacturers are thinking these shows are waste of time, i can believe it. still, it's nice to have a good look around!

I went to geneva, and fingers crossed will be returning next year, as someone else said it's much more of an event in a different country. Geneva as a city is strange, nothing like the big smoke you associate with London.

Looking forward to next year already
