Things to see and do in Brugge and Brussells please!

In Brussels, head for the Grand Place, quite an awesome spectacle. Lots of bars around there as well.
Not far from there is the Mannekin Pis - not much to look at, but rather famous apparently.
Make sure you sample some chips with mayo.
Be careful with Bush beer which is around 12% IIRC and tastes rather good considering the strength.

Beer - note they have several (hundred) types of beer, which should be served in the glass appropriate for it. You shouldn't get Duval in a Kwok glass.
Le Cercuil (the coffin) - in a side street off Grand Place, cult funeral parlour *** bar, you get your drinks in skulls and the tables are coffins. Good for a laugh once.
I wasn't impressed by Atomium.
Musee Victor Horta, his house down a side street somewhere - quite nice, all the door handles, escutcheon plates etc all styled. Takes an hour or so.
If you're lucky, on Fri/Sat/Sun they'll do the drive-in openair movie at the top of Parque Cinquentinaire (sp?) - take a FM radio and you can probably sit on the sidelines and watch the film without paying
Sit out the front of the Metropole and have a coffee. Hot chocolates are also great (but a bit odd in midsummer!)
Nightclubs - can't remember any specific, but don't go before midnight, and even then they might be empty. Pay the doorman on your way out.
Walking round the centre is nice but is actually finished in about 45 minutes!!
Go to a shop called Pain Quotidien (Daily Bread) for brunch - sit at the communal table (or a separate one, depends on the branch), order croissants, coffee, pain au chocolat (croissants with choc) and take your pick of the hulking chocolate spreads to put on them.
I might think of more...

Visit King Charles old house (its a pub) in the Grand Palace and have a beer overlooking the place. really nice at night time when its all lit up...
Theres some little baby statue having a pi55, aparently its supposed to be a famous sight seeing thing to do in Brussells but I didnt find it very interesting only a minute walk from the Grand Palace too.

Bruges is very nice, but watch out for the horse and traps - they don't half shift, and they stop for no-one. I can't remember which tower we went up, but it was basically a bell tower with a great view over the city - well worth a visit, although as we found it gets noisy if you are up there at midday!

In Bruges, try Den Dyver resturant. They serve a different beer with each course of the meal and the waiter explains why it is the most appropriate beer for that dish. You'll probably need to book in advance.
Straffe Hendrick brewery is also worth a visit (and a taste).
