Recomend me a Free View box
I've just changed my TV from an old integrated digital set to a new BIGGGGGGGG plasma .
Now I need to get a good free view box.
Although my old set had it built in, the menu system, digital text, EPG was a load of rubbish. So, what's good and what should I avoid?
Cheers

Have a troll around in the Freeview and PVR forums on AV Forums. Last time I looked they were recommending staying away from all the major brands, especially Panasonic, and going for the cheaper unknown names as they seemed to work so much better. The ones which spring to mind are the Topfield, Humax and Fusion. Aim for a twin tuner with at least an 80g HD.

I haven't tried that yet.

I'll try that when I get home

I've had a Topfield 5800 PVR since January. Best bit of kit I've bought in ages. Two reasons I got this over the Humax
1) Ability to install TAPs (Topfield Application Programs) which can give you all sorts of funtionality such as different EPGs and Timer managment, MP3 and JPG playback.
2) Humax did not have chase play, though I suspect this may have been fixed with a firmware update.
Take a look at www.toppy.org.uk. I'm a user there too with the name username. Lots of good support and advice
