Angry Clamped Today...Help Needed

Got clamped today in the albert dock carpark in liverpool, never saw the postage stamp signs, and got charged £60 release fee. Anyone know the laws on warning signs etc...

Cheers

I know that area fairly well and to be honest, if you didn't see the signs, you need glasses.

Who clamped you? What legal right did they have to clamp you? If they claimed to be acting to enforce the law what crime did a court convict you of?

Move to Scotland as clamping is illegal up here Only the DVLA are still allowed to do it on un-taxed cars

Being on private land does not mean that you can break the law of the land, nor does it mean that you can make up your own laws and that they will be legally enforcable.

You've paid your money and been released I guess??

It's highly unlikely you will take any action once you have calmed down and they know it ...... better to remove the clamp, without damaging it, at the time

The internet is full of how to get the clamps off ... may mean letting a tyre down or stuff - but it can be done (and they cannot force you not to remove it as thats assault!!)

If I lived in an area where that was likely to happen, I'd keep a decent set of bolt cutters in the car.

So what they are tampering with your car, **** them, I bet you'd get away with it as it would cost more to take you to court than the fine is worth.

Again the terms of the contract do not supersede the word of the law, it is unfortunate but somewhat representitive of the general attitude within society towards the rights that we hold, that this concept proves too difficult for you.
