Really Urgent new tv help.......
................Just got up to day and my trusty old Sony wont turn on and it's flashing a fault code at me. As it's 14 years old or therew abouts - repair is not the best idea.
Now the urgent bit - England play today and i have just over 5 hours to source a tv.
I'll go up to £800. Not bothered about what type (plasma, CRT, Lcd etc) but i just want as big as possible on a decent brand. Oh yeah - don't want a projection tv
Please help

You're mad to buy a big screen TV in a hurry without doing your research on make/model and then on price - you're bound to end up not getting the best deal, and £800 is a lot of money (to me, at least!)
Why not just go round to a mate's house or down the pub, then buy a new TV during the week at your leisure?

goto www.avforums.com to get some reviews before you buy then try www.play.com cos they are alot cheaper than the high street.

Another vote for the Samsung R7 series. I have a 32" R74 and it's a beauty. You can get a price from Pricerunner, but I doubt any shop would have one availabe today for that money.
