Default Accompanying a Learner Driver - do i need to be insured?

If i am sat in the passenger seat , do i need insurance for the car?

I am not covered by my own policy to drive any other vehicles TPFT

iirc the learner should be insured, you don't need to be as you are not driving.

The driver does but you don't need to be insured. You do need to be over 21 and have held a full licence for 3 years.

missus is an instructor - just asked her..

Yeah iirc the person with the learner has to be insured incase the learner gets stuck, scared etc and they have to take over the driving?

Well it makes sense that the accompanying person is insured but it is not actually a legal requirement.

I thought it used to be 25? or am I imagining things?

And if you're supervising a learner, don't use your mobile phone - you're liable for the same fine as a driver using a phone.
