Default What was the un-coolest car your parents had?

My mum had, not one, but TWO Ladas.

Thankfully she moved on to VW/Audi/Honda since those days, phew.

My old man had this weird green Simca back in the late 70's...don't think I've seen one since, not like that anyway but I remember all the kids laughing at it! Also had a Hillman Imp which kept breaking down (though not until it got us all somewhere really inaccessable like the Welsh mountains!), Hillman Avenger - originally in that washed out ivory colour but my dad took it upon himself to do a respray in Orange. He then went through a strange phase of Dormobiles/Caravanettes!

Not all at the same time, but bad nevertheless:

2CV (bright orange to stand out when being dropped off at school)
Austin Princess (which, bizarrely, they still wax lyrical about)
Morris Marina
Talbot Alpine (compounded because the numberplate had POO in it)

Editted to add

Fiat 500
Morris Minor estate
Hillman Hunter

My dad borrowed a red TR7 once with white Starskey & Hutch stripe. It was back in 70's and at the time I thought it was awesome!!

Then it was Cortina's and Granada's and now a nice new 530D Sport.

Did anyone else try and get their dad to drop you off as far away as school as possible?

My Mum had a light blue Fiat 126, with a massive 650cc, 2 cylinder engine which she drove like a looney Although she redeemed herself when she sold it and bought a Triumph Spitfire

Cool

My dad had a Moskovitch (sp?) in the mid 70s. It was the worst heap of junk ever to grace the highways.

I'm convinced it was just a T34 with the barrel cut off. It was truly woeful. I have questioned him about it since, but he is not forthcoming as to why he bought it. Obviously too embarrassed!!!!

To compound his error, he then bought a Morris Marina, in orange with black vinyl seats. I still have the scars where my skin fused to them in a traffic jam on the M5 in the summer of '76............................

My mum breifly had a 1.4 fiesta "S"

Nothing wrong with it, just it way only "normal" mundane shopping trolley car she ever had and a bit of a let down compared to the cars she had before.
