Can anyone tell me how much the minumum amount of MOT you need to have on a vehicle to renew your tax? Someone said it doesn't matter but I always thought it had to be over a month?

Car tax due end of the month and MOT due 15th July.

Don't think it matters. Just renewed the wifes tax for end June on t'internet and her mot is due on 2nd July.

Have had a look but appear to keep going back to the same bit of the site over and over heccles so have now given up and thought I would use the knowledge that is NSR

i thought it didnt matter, my car tax is due in july and my mot is due in august

Just taxed my car this month with 4 days left on my MOT. No problems at all but the postie woman did look like she enjoyed reminding me it was due soon!!!

As I understand it, the MoT needs to be valid for part of the period for which the tax disc is issued. For example, if your MoT runs out on the 28th June, you could not get a new tax disc for the year which starts on the 1st July.
