STEEL TOECAP SHOES +/or BOOTS (not £9.99 specials!)
Anyone know of a supplier of decent steel toecap shoes?
I really need to wear them when I am in the warehouse and unloading/loading vans and containers to protect my little toes.
I dont want to wear £9.99 shoes that are made out of plastic......
Anyone know of anything?????

I have to wear steel toe-caps at work also. Bought a pair of Dr Marten shoes last year which have served me well. They're by far the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, and the way they are wearing will probably last me for 10 years! Paid about £50 including delivery, which was well worth it. Bought them from www.shoe-shop.com.
Watch out for the Arco own brand, the first pair I had lasted about 6 months and I had trouble finding any that would fit properly (I'm a size 12).
Hope this helps

We get our steel toecap boots from Parkers (they have branches nationwide) or from builders merchants.
Let me know if you'd like a number for a branch of Parkers and I'll dig one out for you.
John.

Some of the shoes also incorporate an insurancee policy wtat covers you if you get your feet damaged whilst wearing your safety shoes.
I find shoes better that boots except when out on site in the open air.

If you are working in a warehouse then your employer may be obliged to buy safety shoes for you, if there is a hazard of items being dropped on your feet.
My employers policy is that we can choose our own shoes up to a value of £26 (and above that we have to pay the difference). In theory it is a disciplinary offence to be on the shop floor without wearing your safety shoes.
You might want to check this out with your company's H&S Officer, if you have one.

Thw company safety officer would be me, myself and I as I own the company
Hence the reason why I may buy a few pairs as apparently if they are for use at work then the company pays
Anything else similar that is "safety related" that I can by for using at work

Another vote for Cat boots, I never buy anything else - they sell them in Makro for about £35, but you can pay up to £60 odd for a pair. In fact, I even have steel toe-capped Cat slippers.
