Default Mobile phone/network advice on deals required

Hi all,

I've just managed to loose my phone (careless sod, I know ). Anyway, this might be a good time to re-appraise what network and phone package would be best for me.

I was on Pay as you Go from 02 with the 400 text bolt on for 11.99 a month. I try and make as few calls as possible (I hate the idea of lining phone companies pockets for superfluous (sp?) calls!) I do send a lot of texts, however, 400 a month just about covers it! In total, I was spending about £25 a month.

So, do I stay on pay as you go and shell out for a phone or is there a much better deal if I accept a contract? I don't want anything that comits you for ages or means that I'd be paying more/getting less than I am now though (even if you do get a flashy phone free) .

I've no idea where to start!! Any suggestions for websites that compare deals, personal reccommendations etc?

Help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

The wife got a free Nokia 6280 on O2 contract paying £25 per month and gets 150 cross net calls plus 750 texts Buy online as you get more for your money. The same O2 contract bought from a shop would have only 100 mins and 500 texts!
