Hacking/legal/police advice
Been a silly boy and hacked into x's online Email accounts (surprisingly easy!) - didn't actually do anything but she knows I did it. She says she's told the police. Are they likely to be bothered and what could they do?

Word of advice to anyone with Hotmail account etc - make sure you have the longest/most confusing password possible and change it on a regular basis.... they are all 2 easy to get into...

Were you exceeding the speed limit when you hacked in? Had you not paid your road tax when you were reading her email?
Reckon you are safe unless your car didn't have insurance

So far we have email account hacking and use of a telecommuncations device to send threatening messages!
Anything else you would like to get off your chest?
Oh, and the latter is probably the much bigger issue and if proven could carry a custodial sentence.

No real proof, she could have disclosed the content of the emails to you, the police won't be that interested but may have a work about the texts if they are threatening but unlikely to take any real action.
Agree with the hotmail account thing, the worst culpret is the reminder question "whats your favourite pets name" like thats going to be hard for anyone that knows you ! Guess that one and your in.

because you did send her a threatning text then the police will probably follow it up, but as long as you keep a low profile from now I dont think you will get into any trouble.

Of course you could try sexually assaulting a small child as well - that way they're bound to be really lenient with you....
Oh - and -
Surely the better advice would be to avoid trying to hack into an ex's account.....?

The way that the police can track you is that everytime you login to your hotmail account your IP is recorded. And which your ISP is laible to give the police all the information attached to that IP. But I doubt the police would get through Microsoft over some stupid ex-gf case.

Pretty unlikely you'll get pulled in for this, it's not exactly like hacking the CIA or something. As others have said the abuse of telephony services is probably viewed more seriously, so maybe just keep a low profile and hope she doesn't complain.
Btw if you hack in future try to use someone elses unsecured WLAN to access the net rather than your own ISP.
