Default Norfolk Broads..Maybe?

Mrs joni and 13 y.o. junior want to go on the Broads for a week in early September. I haven't been since I was knee high. Any recommendations for which area/ who to book with/ things to avoid etc?...many thanks.

Went a couple of years ago in September and found that the water levels were quite high, which meant that it wasn't possible to get under Potter Heigham bridge. Don't know whether this happens annually or whether it was a one off, so it might be worth making sure you aren't in an area where you're "trapped" if you can't get under the bridge.

Stayed at the hotel Wroxham last summer and the water was high then as well. As we sat outside having a pint watching the world go by a few city types went past sipping their glasses of champangne only to make complete ***** of themselves by hitting the bridge in their cruiser

Been there with the lads a few times. Great holiday.

But if their boat says "doesn't fit under Potter Higham bridge" tell them to believe it. Bloody embaressing getting stuck there

LOL - we asked the boatyard what happened if boats got trapped the other side of the bridge, and apparently they go to the chip shop in the village and offer to buy everybody chips if they'll come and stand in the boat to weigh it down enough to get under the bridge

So, if you do get stuck, you know what to do

Tell me about it, the whole town comes out and points muttering "hooligans" (not sure how getting stuck under a bridge without threating anyone made us that). But anyway..

We had to climb out the emergency escape lid at the back and push off the bridge with it in full reverse.

As I said before, if the depth gauge reads 10" and the boat says "wont fit under 9", including Potter Higham Bridge" then believe it
