Bloody interfering government
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5032196.stm
If my partner and I wanted our relationship to be based on the laws in place for marriage we'd get bloody married, we don't because we like things the way they are.

It is long past the time when the Government should act positively to bring back the sanctity of a proper marriage.
It would do a lot to rebuild full responsibility for the family and the children, which is what marriage should be about.

I'm happy for them to do this as long as I get all the legal benefits of being married as well. e.g. capital gains tax. inheritance tax etc
We're happy co-habiting (share property, child on way etc) and neither of us is a God-botherer so neither of us feels the need to get married. "Sanctity" of marriage my ****.

I feel in the case in the article with the womans partner dying then yes laws should be in place for things like his pension but just for splitting up I think its disgusting to think that say the woman could claim keep or maintenance money of the other person. A complete joke IMO.

surely u have to register yourself as co-habiting tho? so if u dont want those rights, dont bother registering.
otherwise they would just have to assume that anyone sharing a house, regardless of sex, are an unmarried couple.
