Help on law re; parking ticket!
Hi guys
I got a parking ticket 3 months ago in a pay and display. I had actually bought a valid ticket but accidentally put it face down on the dashboard. The ticket read something like 'not clearly displaying a valid ticket'
I kept the ticket so I could argue my case/appeal. I forgot to do that and yesterday received a demand for £80. One of the reasons given on the back of the demand for appeal is 'undue delay in demand' The demand is dated 3 months after the issue of the ticket. Does this constitute undue delay, as they don't define it
Hope that makes sense
Thanks

I also remember seeing on the new recently that loads of parking tickets were voided because they are meant to have not only the date printed on them but something like an 'issue date' aswell. Anybody know what this is all about?
Thanks
Thanks

Pay it, then contest it.
Ive contested a couple, and got let off. Apparently most contested tickets get let off, so as long as you word your letter well you should be fine.
Fixed penalties without going to court are technically illegal due to some old law, and you can get out of them that way - probably get some help from pepipoo.com if you want to go down that route.

1689 Bill of Rights, as our old friend hedgehog has informed us. Only a court of law has the authority to impose a fine of any kind. Do a search for some of his posts or the words "parking" or "1689" and you're sure to come up trumps
