Vehicle sellers on ebay. Advice please.
Right, I've put my AE86 on ebay. Its on a 7 day auction and i've set the opening bid at 3k which seems reasonable for a very competative 86.
However, I'm down to 4 days on the auction and still no bids.
Got about 10 watchers, but still nothing.
Only ever sold 1 car on ebay and that was with no start price so i got plenty of bids straight away.
Is it normal to have zero bids for the first three days of the auction?
I wouldnt ask, but I would like to sell the car sharpish cos my M3 is looking a bit shabby and I want to go to town on it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
astraboy.

If it was me I wouldn't bid yet so I reckon they are just waiting and don't want to 'tip their hands'.
If it is a fair price and you've done a good advert with photos I expect you'll get people contacting you for a deal outside of ebay as that's the most usual thing.
When I put mine on it was really only to generate interest as I wasn't that bothered about actually selling it via ebay.
Cheers,
Phil

hiya,im a power seller myself, not of cars but do shift a lot of pricey items.
smart buyers and usually the serious buyers will wait till the last min....no point getting into a bidding war with some headcase that no more wants the car than your 80 yr old neighbour!
if 3 g's is around what your after let it sit,ae86's will allways fetch good money, even for tatty heaps.but if your after a lot more put a reserve on it,dont be surprised if it goes to ireland either"we're nuts about them over here!".....have a look at the irish auto trader to see whats being paid.
had one myself 12yrs ago, paid 2350 for it and sold it for 2500 2 yrs latter...should have held onto it!......good luck with the sale
