how far do you travel to work???
We are thinking of moving house. I think the house we have seen is a bit far away to travel to work every morning.
I just wondered what the average distance was?

30 miles each way, plus any extra to clients
its a killer and involves blloming london, congestion charge and parking.
but years ago used to live south london, into central london for work. 8 miles door to door. used to take me 1 hour
now live 30 miles door to door and it takes me .......... 1 hour

Jonathan Davies has the right idea.
All depends whereabouts in the country you are.
We used to live within the M25 and any journey would take forever. Now we live in the rural outback of Lincs. and distances are all irrelevant to time. What used to take us an hour , say, now takes a fraction of that.

For years I was sharing our car with my gf, both travelling about 45 miles a day to roughly the same destination where she then had the use of the car. I was made redundant, found a new job where I was travelling about 70 miles a day in the opposite direction.
This was OK as it was a good road and the scenery was nice. Now I've found another job but I'll be travelling about 100 miles every day, again good roads but mainly motorway. It does p me off though that our travell costs have risen dramatically but at least I dont have her moaning at me every morning and night while trapped in the car
