Default Anyone been to Lindos?

I'm going to Lindos for a week, next week. going over for my mates wedding, I imagine it's going to be a bit different from the booze fuelled lads holidays i've been on in the past (those were the day's).

Anyway just wonder if anyone has been, and anyone's experience of the place?

Very nice picturesque place with lots of rooftop restaurants and a traditional Greek feel to the place.
You are only a short ride away to the booze fuelled parts of Rhodes though.
There is a great Waterpark near Faliraki that is well worth a day out as well.

Few years back now, top beach (St Pauls bay), nice view from the acropolis, some good tavernas, cars are banned so you have to walk to you accomodation from the coach drop off (so pack wisely).
the only other thing I remember was it was b****y hot !!!,

Enjoy !!

I went last year, unless u want an 18-30's holiday its bloody fantastic. There's quite a few bars, many hidden away up back alleys but dont be afraid to explore. There's an open air night club - i seem to recall dancing to status quo so leave your gloves and whistle behind!

Oh and the walk back up from the beach is a killer. There is a tiny beach/cove set away from the main beach which is very quiet and fab for ealry(ish) morning swims - just ask for the small beach with the church.

enjoy... I am so jealous

if you look across from the top of the monastery to your left you'll see a massive cliff. that was the 'bunker' used for filming the guns of navarone ...

kalithea and anthony quinn beaches are nice and secluded (off the main road back to rhodes town from lindos) with a good little eaterie called 'nikolas' at the kalithea one.

The market is good. Visit the parthenon (sic?) if you can. Great experience, the views across the water are absolutely superb.

Word of warning: carry lots of water with you because Lindos is one very hot place!

You can get taxis from the square. Worth taking one trip out on the bus though. If you stand on the steps by the door at the front of the bus you get a really wacky feeling of floating in the air as the edge of the bus swings over the cliff edges on the mountain roads before it swings back in. Views worth seeing.

Enjoy.
