I think the whole point is to take Bond to a new level. Hence the references to promotion etc. It'll be a darker (more original) Bond.

I think the idea to do this is sound, and probably what the brand needed. I just hope the movie is done well and NOT like 'DAD' with stupid Matrix style effects, camera panning and faded echoe style shots It was cringe-worthy.

Clive Owen to me was the obvious choice, but declined as we know but Craig I feel fit's the bill - as long as the movie is done well!! I hear the director is the guy that did Goldeneye - that appears to be a very good start!!

Ok it has to be said that looks quality!!!

The last few bonds since Goldeneye have been poor IMO - some of the special effects in DAD just looked like a computer game, and the whole thing had just got too silly - looked like the films were aimed more at kids that adults.

This new one does look much darker and more serious, probably with a bit of black humor like early Connery ones.

Cant wait to see it! And I reckon Craig fits the part very well - smart and serious, not "mr cheese".

he may not look like bond....but he does look like he could kick a baddies ***! maybe the problem is that connery/moore DIDNT look like bond in the first place.

loved the trailer..yeah they are all well cut and look great, but from that, I think we are going to be in for a treat...hopefully no CGI ****e..

as for whether he looks like a bond...yup no problems there.
and if you are ever unsure just say the words " George Lazenby "

Looks great, going back to the gritty, ruthless Bond as the books were written. After Timothy Dalton portrayed Bond like this I thought they were getting back to the way Bond should be played, but Pierce Brosnan brought back a slightly softer side which I didn't like.
Looks like the "grittyness" is back with Daniel Craig, can't wait to see it.

enough said. craig's a cool, edgy actor rather than an FHM clothes horse who runs like a girl. looks like bond is going back in the right direction ... also looking forward to it.

Craig's a good actor and, like a few others here I very much hope they've gone for a darker style.
The Bourne films have really given a high target for Bond to reach.
Hopefully they can pull it off.

Spot on I think! Brosnan was ok but for me was too pretty and almost gay looking. Too short, too skinny. Craig looks 'ard and the film trailer has that mean/dark edge to it that adult fans of Bond like me have been waiting for.
I just hope the film uses a good plot/screenplay and doesn't turn into a mindless series of stunts like MI3 ( with that closet gay Cruise!)
