So in the Machinist, did he imagine it all due to sleep deprivation, how come he killed the fat guy yet he still lived?
Under suspicion, why did Gene Hackman admit to the killings when he never did it?

A little tip When posting spoilers on the AV Forum, people colout their spoiler text white to make it difficult to read unless highlighted like this....
*SPOILER - Back in the present, Trevor completes the hangman game and figures out who he is. It says “KILLER”. His guilt has caused his insomnia and trip into madness, which created Ivan. He never knew Marie and Nicholas (if those are their real names). He takes a trip downtown. We find him in a police station, where he says, “I’d like to report a hit and run”. He turns himself in.

Machinist was more of a "total recall" in my eyes. his subconscious left the notes in the hope the real person would remember what he did and ran away from it.
Inside he knew he was a good person and should hand himself in.
I think..
