Default Initial D - The Movie

Anyone seen this ?

It's a proper movie of the anime Series - and it's :

TOTALLY AWESOME!!

Best driving movie (stop rephrase that) - movie ABOUT REAL street driving ever made.

This REALLY captures the thrill and the passion of driving.

All about mountain street racing in Japan and how one kid becomes a true master.

Doesn't have a stupid 'cop sub plot' in it or any other such nonsense that usualy taints all driving movies (the three of em that exist anyway!).

What it seriously funny is that the bad guys are always driving EVO'S!!! LOL!! Seriously, even throughout the entire anime series that went before every '********' bad guy only ever drives an EVO. Obviously a universal attraction...

( put on hard hat - sorry guys - of course not all evo' drivers are ***** just the ones that cut in and out of busy bank holiday traffic during daylight hours)

eerr - ahem -... I'm 35, sir...

- I know ridiculous isn't it!...

but if you have the slightest bit of passion about driving and about the pursuit of better driving technique then this will get you silky!!..

OOOOH - Inital D Movie -

Watched the series 1 of the animation. When I find decent copies on fleebay, I'll be getting them.

Wouldn't say all the baddies had EVOs. Isn't Takumi's first race with an R32? Remember the R32 driver getting really pi55ed that he can't shake the old Toyota.

If anyone likes Initial D on here get the PS2 game - its basically exactly like the arcade game which is pretty damn fine anyway. Its import only and the only reason I tweaked my PS2 in order to play import driving games (Tokyo Racer etc)

Been meaning the get the rest of the series off fleebay but never sure I'm not going to get ripped with very bad copies.

I was a big fan and watched all the first three series and the anime movie and Initial D stage Four Anime after it and the movie doesn't screw with my enjoyment of that. I thought it was a really cool movie and genuinely funny at times. As I say If your a true petrolhead I don't see how you can't dig this...

I'll have to check out the game although - cheers for the tip...always saw the reviews panning it -but now I guess they just don't dig the entire Initial D series.

One thing for sure is it's made me think much harder about my driving and I've genuinely learnt from it and my driving has improved - I don't know any other form of popular entertainment that can say that!..

I can say that entire Initial D concept has totally changed the way I drive and my ambition and personal aspiration to become a true master of driving. ( laugh if you want but my days of tw*tting around totally ignorant of what my car is doing and how I'm driving it are over!!)

I spent 3500 on this:

off the back of the initial D series.
Cost me a fortune and I hardly ever drive it, but I wouldnt have it any other way.

Wow!! and I thought I was a big Initial D fan!!...

That car is very sweet...

So come on then - have you mastered the art of the intertial drift in her ?

Have you put a twin cam Toyota racing engine with an 12000rpm rev limit...

What have you done to the suspension ?

You can't just put up a picture and not share the details!!!...

Have you spent five hundred lonely midnight hours in her on the back roads and hills trying to avoid spilling water from your cup ?

(btw - that's not a .....LEVIN is it ? ae85 ? LOL!!! )

Nope! i've poured so much money into her I'm scared of drifting her, so now she sits snug in my garage

No, but it was rebuilt 1500 miles ago, its now tuned for reliability, but the stainless steel exhaust sounds nice

*vast intake of breath*
-40mm spax springs (- 1 coil on the rear), Gas adjustable spax dampers all round, Solid top mounts, front and rear strut braces, Safety devices Rollcage, 5 linked back axle (fully rosejointed), TRD 2way LSD, and Mk II Supra Wheels with Avon ZZ3 Tyres (Aka, Ditchfinders!)

How's it drive then ?
What's the handling like ?
What ( and I don't mean this in a clever way) do you feel is so special about it ?

Suspension sounds awesome - sounds very tight - I bet you've got virtually zero pitching anymore.

...Thats the one thing I really need to fix on my scoob - don't need any more power but I really hate the soft drifty floaty suspension. Its bad in ohh sooo many different ways...(05 wrx 300)

Have a look at this:
http://www.alleyjax.co.uk/jamestemp/vids/mittojames.WMV
This is the previous owner in action. The car had not been painted, had dead dampers, softer suspension and a standard diff.
What do you think its like to drive now?
astraboy.
