Anyone Know Building Costs Index (Spons)?
I need to know approximate sq. metre building cost for the following:
Carpark
retail
office
leisure
residential housing (apartments)
Location, if important, is close to city centre (Jewellery Quarter), Birmingham.
Can't find it online - it's the sort of info Spon's Building price index contains.
Anyone have access to it?
Cheers

OK... here goes:
Carpark £60-120/m2 (surface) £250-360/m2 (multistorey)
retail £490-73/m2 (shell)
office £840-3650/m2 (varies massively with spec & low --> high rise)
leisure £660-4200/m2 (again varies massively depending exactly what it is)
residential housing (apartments) £1180-1400/m2 (3-4 storey villa) £1910-2200 (multi storey)
Prices taken from the 2005 Spons, so allow some for inflation for this year.
Spons doesn't make any allowance AFAIK for area, I think you'd need the RICS BCIS list for that.
HTH though.
If you've any questions, just ask away.
John.
