Help me write a best man speach!!
Guys and Gals.. I need your help
Next saterday I've got to do a best man speach at my mates wedding... now... I've only ever been to one wedding and it was yonks ago... So I have no idea what I'm doing really.
Any tips or advice?
The bride keeps telling me its got to be funny...cos she wants me to make her family laugh Only problem is I dont have any dirt to dish on my mate... he's an all round great guy...doesnt drink or smoke.. and very faithful, humble.. that kind of guy!!
Can i just write a load of jokes?
And are you allowed to pre-record a speach in the comfort of your own home then just play it back on the day?
Help!

I was in the same position this time last year, was nervous, but when I was actually up doing the speach it was ok .
The link above is the one I used, pinched snippets out of some of the speaches for my own, and it seemed to be ok .
Not heard of anyone pre recording their speach and playing it back, good idea though .
Good luck, you'll be fine

So if that is who he is then say that. Put together a few stories about times you have spent together when he demonstrated these qualities.
Do what you are comfortable with - if you try and take on too much of what others say you will not be as relaxed on the day.
Also a Best man's speech does not have to be long - however the more authentic it is the better it will be received. And I imagine the father in law, and all the twee great aunts would far prefer to hear of a groom of integrity rather than how he ended up pissed at uni upside down in a vat of custard, naked with his finger up the **** of a sheep

Also I know the Bride and Groom spent a lot of their savings on this...and didnt get much help... I was thinking of buying a lottery ticket for every table... and making 50% of the winnings go to the bride and groom?

"Just a pity he's gay...."
