Default how to draw a plan to scale?

Quick help needed!

I need to draw a 2 dimensional plan roughly to scale but only have the basic office package - word, excel ppoint access

Havent got time to buy anything and dont want to spend any money either!

Anyone got a (useful) suggestion?

Hate to say it but when I designed my loft conversion although I started out in PowerPoint, it was easier to buy a pad of graph paper and use that - far more effective and you know it is to scale and accurate...

ah u see i know my limits - plotting out patio, yes planning structural stuff

Wink Lateral thinking

If the task is relatively straighforward using the PC may not be the simplest way - the good old pencil and paper may be easier. Technology can sometimes be overkill!!

Spot on i work day in day out with £8,000 worth of architectural cad and sometimes there is just No substitute for pencil and paper

Scale rule and 0.5mm Pentel.

Graph paper is handy too if you are particular about your perpendiculars
