Starter - stuffed mushrooms...
Get some large open mushrooms, streaky bacon, garlic and cheese... Fry the bacon and allow to cool, meanwhile remove the stalks of the mushrooms. Chop the stalks, garlic and bacon, mix with a few breadcrumbs and bind the mixture with a splash or two of white wine. Fill the mushrooms with the mixture and put in an oven proof dish then sprinkle some cheese on top. Pour in more white wine to cover the base of the mushrooms then cook for 20 mins at around 180 C... Very nice starter...

Dead easy too, brown steak in pan, then pop in oven to slow cook, while you make the sauce in the juice left in the pan.
Mushrooms, garlic, onion, cream, brandy, worcester sauce. Simmer and serve.
Good luck

ok, nice and easy but looks great.

Joint of beef, night before put in a dish with red wine (molot, something smooth like that) and a few cloves of garlic, leave over night, before cooking seal (put in a pan and fry the edges to seal in the moisture) then roast (20 mins a kg plus another 20 mins) roast potatoes (ready cooked ok) with some rosmary on, choice of veg, and make the gravy out of the meat juices, yorkshire puds and stuffing if likes, if nice and easy but looks like you have really tried.

Marinade chicken cubes in garlic, butter and sundried tomatoes for a few hours. Put a little olive oil in a frying pan and add the chicken etc. Fry until brown. When ready add some double cream. serve with rice. if you want to add a little place the rice into a cup and compress. Then turn it over onto a plate to serve. Place a leaf of parsley on top. a simple , quick but enjoyable main course.

Another, somthing lighter, chicken breasts, wrap in foil with a tea speen of water, a couple of cuts (slices) of leak, pinch of salt and pepper (white is better) and lay over a piece of bacon, seal and place in ovan for 30 minutes, boil new potatoes and finish in butter and parsley, steamed veg (carrots and brocolli) and add a little chicken stock (or stuff from a tin, bisto chicken stuff) to the juice from the chicken parcels and serve.

thai green curry

the green sauce bit just needs to be chopped and mixed together, then it's basically a stew in coconut milk!

Grilled red mullet with cuecumber noodles and white wine and chive foam.

2x red mullet fillets skin on but pin boned.dust with seasoned flour on skin side grill on hi heat for about five min.

Cuecumber noodles. peal a hole cuecumber and then still using the pealer take off strips of the cuecumber but only the flesh not down to the seeds.
place in boiling salted water 30sec before serving drain well.

Chive foam. take a glass of white wine and reduce by half add 4/5 floz of double cream (not single it will split if heated) bring to the boil. add salt and pepper to taste. put into a big jug with a small hand full of chopped chive take a hand blender and wizz to a foam.

Place noodles on the center of the plate lay the fish on top (skin side up)
spoon over the foam. sounds hard but really it dead easy
befor anyone gets on at me for being a fancy tw**. yes i'm a chef

Thats the problem with the yuth of today, never happy !

Just make the effort and make her feel special, if she likes (dare I say loves) you then she will appreciate any effort that you make, just do something nice and dont stress about it, something simple, strawberries and cream to follow, a nice DVD and a bottle of wine, and you will be king

Good luck
