Default Where to buy 50 PSP's???

I need 50 PSP's for an incentive at work and would rather bulk buy to get the best price.

Any ideas where to start?

Cheers

why contact SONY?

Thet wont supply them.

Best to find the cheapest price online and order 50, most places are not going to be able to dicount as the margins are very slim.

Yep Pete's suggestion isnt daft, worth a call they can only say yay or nay! Granted that most resellers only make about 3% on consoles (not sure if thats the same for hand-helds) but hey as that friendly supermarket chain would say..every little helps! And they might not give you a discount but might throw in a geisha girl for the night!

Have fun

P.S. Got any jobs (o and for an incentive I want a PSP Giga pack not the basic rubbish ok? )

I will gladly bet 50 psps that sony will not supply you, you will not even be able to get throught o anyone to discuss it.

The supply of consoles, DVDs, high end electronics can not be done just by phoning some one up/

You will also have proplems buying 50 as most people will think its a scam!

I take it you lot all work for someone else, someone else makes the business decisions so you don't have to?

SONY will talk, just speak to the right department ... why not try sales as a first stop?

For a start pissy pants, SONY (and just about any other major brand) sell there items through ditributors not direct. Calling Sony will get you no where. There distributors will only be interested in accounts for a range of items, they wont want to supply just one product.

Try calling and see how you get on!

As others have said, they won't be interested and 50 is not really a large number.

And I'm sure they would want to **** off all their distributors by starting to sell direct.

Sorry all, but i'm going with Pete on this one.

We used to look after the customer accounts for Sony at a company I worked with back in the 90's when the PS1 was launched.

We were a handling house doing the promotions for all the major brands, including Sony

We managed to blag promo copies of all the latest PS1 games, including GT2 a month before it was released and we definately dealt with Sony UK directly.

As long as you can get through to the right person, it makes sense to at least try it.

I have contacts within SONY ....... those planks above who doubt that SONY UK will not be interested in an order for 50 PSPs are complete and utter novices, obviously with ZERO business ability

I can see them on the Apprentice!! "Scooby Soon,KiwiGTI ... you're FIRED!"

Don't know about Sony - however a lot of big corporates with resellers can be more expensive to buy from directly as they simply don't have the processes to supply. Blagging some promos off the marketing department is easy.

Fifty is too many to give away and not enough to make it worth their while as a none distributor. The deal is worth around five to six grand net retail. You phone up Sony and they will put you through to a favoured distributor. The best you might get is Sony UK or Sony Europe giving some guidance to the distributor on what price they can do for you. Again I don't think the order is big enough.

PS And of course if PSL does have real contacts in Sony who can make this deal work then great - he can put your money where his mouth is and take a nice commission. Or maybe it isn't worth his while either. Put up or shut up Lewis.

I can really see Sony bending over backwards to sell £6-£7000 of equipment, which is the equivalent of a couple of LCD TVs.

And why would I want to halve my income working for that bearded galah?

You could try some mobile phone wholesalers. Find them in exchange&mart and Cellphone magazines.

I used to be in the mobile phone market about 4 years ago and wouldnt have had a problem getting hold of them at trade prices.

Thats why you will always be an 'also-ran' ...... didn't anyone ever tell you to look after the pennies!

SONY didn't get where it is by turning down £7000 orders!!

And as for using my contacts - it's not for an individual, it's not for charity - it's a coporate promotion ............ I have given my advice freely.

I'm with Pete too.

Phone SONY and at the very least they will give you their UK distributors. They're not going to simply hang up on you and 'not talk to you'.

They're in business and will point you in the right direction to buy their products.

Buy 50 GBAs and paint them black?

Or, www.ebuyer.co.uk have them at 149 and are always telling people how bulk orders get discounts...
