Jimmy Carr makes me laugh
Although saying that, I saw Eddie Izzard and Jo Brand Sunday night and i was in stitches the whole time, my jaw ached from laughing so much, both very very funny

I think the big yin takes some beating ...... He doesnt need to tell jokes, he just talks about real life stuff and makes it very very funny. He gets my vote......
Peter Kaye is very good BUT I think he will have a short lifespan.

Bill Bailey gets a vote from me too. Saw him at the Edinburgh Festival last year, doing a free talk (partly about spirituality) in a church. At the end there was a Q&A with the 'audience' and this lasted about an hour, it was very interesting and he was very accomodating. It wasn't a secret event but it certainly wasn't publicised much.. one of the hidden gems of the festival I think.
Also worth a mention:
Tommy Cooper (no-one has mentioned him yet!)
Sean Lock
Sean Hughes (saw him at the Morrissey gig at the Lowry the other day, but not seen him on telly for ages. He should come back).

Simon Pegg (spaced, shaun of the dead, hot fuzz)
Nick Frost (above)
Steve Coogan (Partridge, obviously)
Noel Fielding & Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh)
David Mitchell & Robert Webb (Peep Show)
all superb!

Derek & Clive, The Dangerous Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, Morecambe and Wise, Newman & Baddiel, Ronnie Barker in pretty much everything he did (except Clarence), or even Ben Elton in his 'Man from Auntie' period
My all time favourites though are probably Tommy Cooper, Billy Connolly & Les Dawson. All of whom have had me in pain from laughing
I too am another one who doesn't 'get' Catherine Tate although admittedly her 'Ginger Refuge' sketches are inspired

Eddie Murphy in Raw and Delirious - comedy at it's absolute best!
Al Murray is a VERY intelligent bloke and puts it to good use during his live shows. Must have some kind of exceptional memory to do his acts. plus he's one of the sharpest comedians out there.
Lastly - Lee Mack (of the Sketch Show fame) is absolute class. Did anyone see him on the "Jack Dee at the Appollo" series? Genius!
