Smile Bourne Identity - the book

Just reading the Bourne series by Robert Ludlum, well into the second book now (Bourne Supremacy)

Has anyone else who's read it been surprised that its differs massively to the film?

Suppose it would have been the same if you read the book 1st then watched the film!

Cant help feeling that if someone like Lustbader wrote the whole lot it miht have been a little more exciting??

The recent film's superb, but when I read the book I forgot the story in the film.
I couldn't finish the book of the Bourne Supremecy - It was really boring.
If you can get through it let me know what happens!

The fourth book, written by Eric Von Lustbader (made-up name surely?); is quite good too, although its quite different.

Eric Van Lustbder made a series of amazing books called the Nicholas Linnear novels. The first was called The Ninja. Highly reccomend them!

The Ludlum books are OK (in the middle of Supremacy at the moment, having read some of his earlier stuff) but not up to the class of Le Carre or Ian Rankin.
