Nightmare long weekend in Rome

Nightmare long weekend in Rome
Just got back, last night, perfect weather, nice hotel, good food, no probs with flights, lovely people, etc etc.
UNFORTUNATELY, I started with RAGING toothache the day I arrived, unable to eat, sleep, or do much without agony, and have just had to go and have the tooth pulled
Sort of wrecks the visit, you know, being in agony all the time you're there, little sleep etc.
Added to that, I've a TINY, tiny hernia in the gut wall below my diaphragm, and the bloody thing's been killing me to walk or stand for any length of time too.
Then I got some painkillers for the tooth which dulled the pain a little, but gave me awful stomach cramps like having diarroeha, but no sh*ts.
What a fekkin awful time.
At least I was able to keep on going, and let the other three I was with have a nice time.
Lets hope I have better luck in the next three weeks in France from tomorrow, but there to work

Christ - not what you want on a weekend away. Your a doctors worst nightmare.
I was in rome for the rugby a few weeks ago, thought it was a superb place, as you say great people and food.
The usual tourist spots are well worth visiting.
Hope you get better soon.

Sorry to her of your toothache mate. I sympathise; I had an infection a few months back and it was torture. I honestly didn't know whether to cry or go on the rampage!! Horrible experience!

Sorry to hear about that Alcazar - I spent the weekend in Rome too! Wasn't the weather superb!?
I'll send you a link to my photos so you can get still 'see' the sights now that you're back!
I was a little bit unsettled when - on checking out of the hotel to have a final wander round the city, the German receptionist said with a sideways smile "Enjoy your last remaining hours, Mr Smith". Perhaps I had upset her...
