Default digital tv help!

I know nowt about all this broadband and digital tv stuff so apologies if this is a dumb question

The lovely people at telewest installed digital tv and broadband the other day. Havent had chance to test the broadband yet but the tv was definitely working.

The engineer told me that i didnt need the old tv aerial any more so I ripped it out and binned it. Just turned on tv for first time since it was installed and fuzzy pic is all i get (yes its all switched on). So, has something else gone wrong or do u need a tv aerial afterall?

I dont want to phone telewest just yet incase its really obvious - much prefer to humiliate myself on here

Any helpful suggestions please!

problem solved.

As Remster says, it'll be like what the DVD player used to be plugged into etc. Telewest is Cable so the Ariel shouldnt be needed (only needed with Freeview)

If you want good old fashioned Ceefax or TeleText you'lll still need the old ariel, or if you want to watch a terestrial channel while recording a digital one!
