Default What sort of bug is this?

In my Lass's bathroom. Tiny bug about 5mm long that was wider at the front and thin at the back. Kind of tear drop shaped i spose
Seen on at work in the past and my mate has described them as silver backs, but google turns up nowt! Any clues?
The Lass needs her mind putting at rest as i've told her they suck blood and are quite posinous

Silverfish, AFAIK, harmless, live in old properties.

Once, when we were at college, I told a gullible lad from Blackpool that they were called "****-chafers". He'd seen one in the lads' crappers
I told him they were so-called because they got under your fore-skin and chafed you after you'd been to the loo. And being as there IS an insect called that, when he looked it up in the dictionary, there it was!

Poor b*gger was petrified of taking a dump for weeks

Silverfish is the common name, bristletail is the more scientific.

They feed on particles of damp wood and paper, I think.

There is indeed.. more commonly known as May-bugs, they appears after sun-down on warm evenings..

Big buggers they are too, over an inch long !!

If anyone from Warwickshire knows Burton Dassett, then go up there, watch the sunset, then get out of there cos they swarm by the thousands !!

It's not a bug, it's a feature
