Music Keyboard help?
My daughter, age 6 , got an electronic keyboard for her birthday. As none of us can read music, does anyone know where you can get crib sheets, that tell you what keys to press to make the required tune?
Cheers!

at 6 would it not be better to get her lessons or at least a beginers piano book - no reason why you couldnt teach her the very basics and better than just doing a "press this key to make this noise" thing.
all mine play piano and the youngest started at just over 5....can now read music well enough to lay simple xmas songs etc

There are some cardboard things that pop over the keys that say CDEFGHAB etc and you use them to learn.... Any decent music store will have what your looking for really.

If the cardboard thing goes up to 'H', it's probably not a good learning tool

I've been teaching keyboards and piano for the last 20 yrs.
The books are a good start, but tbh, lessons are the way forward. But more than that, practice counts for even more.
For basics that are quick and easy, get yourself a drywipe pen, and write the letters C,D,E,F,G,A,B onto all the the white keys. Don't worry about the sharps/flats yet, as most of the first books tend to be based around the key of C major (the white keys!)
PM me if you want some names of good books
