Diet Cherry Coke
Well, I have been bemoaning the fact that Cherry Coke is only available in the fat Coke version and now they release a Diet version, what 15 or 20 years later ?
And, I cant say wholeheartedly that I like it, I always avoid the normal Coke varieties despite loving the Cherry version, I mean the diet version is ok but its not quite as near to Cherry Coke as Diet Coke is to Coke, or am I just used to it.
I remember as a kid somebody going to America and saying you can get Cherry Coke and I was amazed, Coke had always been Coke flavoured in our house, if you were lucky that is, usually got some 'Alpine' approximation sold 'off the back of a lorry' (anybody remember that, flat bed truck full of pop ?) which was sort of fizzy brown disinfectant flavoured water, not with its charm but not the real deal. Then proper Cherry Coke came to these shores and I was happy, it was fantastic tooth rotting stuff, I felt like the UK was going somewhere, we had Cherry Coke. The the same 'mate' went to America and came back with tales of Vanilla Coke, Lemon Coke, Cheese and Onion f*cking Coke and Cherry Coke didnt seem that special anymore.
What do you think of the New Cherry coke ?

Vanilla Coke is rank, it tastes like Coke that has been passed through a Mini cab air freshener.

I did a Google for it and the American Diet Cherry is a near as possible copy of Cherry Coke where the English version is different and more like Black Forest Gateau, sort of darker flavour than the American more cocktail cherry flavour.

Oh yeah, Stella, making me want one right now but I decided to cut my drinking to a few beers one night a week as I was getting through a couple a night and over the week, thats quite a few extra calories and guess what my pants are getting bigger !

Diet Cherry coke... nothing like full fat cherry coke.. at least *that* tastes of coke and cherries..

I must admit I have almost an addiction to Pepsi Max. I also like Diet Dr. Pepper. And from above I remember Tab! What happened to that?
I think that Cherry/Vanilla coke and Pepsi Max Cappucino all taste awful.
