Default GPS receiver and mobile phones question

If you have one of these phones that you can put tom tom software on then all you need is a GPS receiver for your car then you have sat nav on your phone-the question is this-the GPS receivers go for around £35 on ebay BUT if you say buy the Talex radar detector for around £50 on ebay this includes a GPS receiver in it for that to know your position-so is there anyway you can use that one to also be the GPS for the sat nav on your phone-to basically save having 2 GPS receivers in your car-both needing plugging in to your *** lighter?

anyone know?

I assume the GPS device would need Bluetooth to communicate with the phone, so I would guess not.

You need BT as said. also you need an in car charger for your phone as it will eat the battery otherwise. The BT receivers these days are good for 10 hours + between charges.

Yep , SirfIII Holux 236 is the daddy imo . If you have a nokia phone , then they also share the same battery ( bl-5c ) so you have more charging options...

I picked up a desktop charger and 2 spare batteries off ebay for under a tenner ......
