It's almost daily now that some or other evidence of their corruption is exposed. They haven't just turned sleeze into an art form - it's more like an industry now.

Second Amigo here
I just LOVE the New Labour way of getting out of things:
Parliamentary Ombudsman is after them for producing leaflets that made people think their pensions were secure.
NL response: "There's no proof anyone acted differently after reading our leaflets"
( So anyone could use that defence in court if ever summoned for inciting religious or racial hatred, then? )
Now the Loans for Peerages sleaze.
NL response: "OK, we won't do it agian then!"
They are scum, pure and simple.
And before anyone thinks I'm a Tory, read my reply to the "Corby" thread, please

With Margaret Thatcher from 1979 to 1990
...then John Major until 1997
...that would make Tony Blair the 3rd best....i.e the worst!

Business as usual, Tories still corrupt
Talking of corruption
The new Conservative peers, nominated by departing leader Michael Howard, include Robert Edmiston, who gave the party £250,000 last year and the Tory party treasurer Jonathan Marland, who gives £50,000 a year to lead it's fundraising division.

As I said this is sleeze on an industrial scale. Mafia style, and it traces right back to the Godfather himself.

Paulr,
Do you honestly think it can be justifyable for a political party to use its postion of privilege to hand out peerages in exchange for so called loans which were only called that so that they did not have to be declared? They were obviously pretty sensitive about that then. Why?
Looks like all sense of honesty and correct behaviour has deserted political life. We seem to be in a state of "deniability" rather than worrying in any way now about the truth any more.
We are really well on the slippery slope now!
