thought about this last year..
& it worked out i would have been £67.10 a Month better off being @ home with 2 kids than working for ROYAL MAIL 6 days a week.

£20 a week more.. for doing SOD all & could have helped family members with work (cash in hand) But thought against it,

What you fail to realise is that being free means he has a right to have as many children as he wants.

Has it occured to you that he is doing a service to the country? The birth rate is falling and the population is getting older. Eventually the children will get jobs and contribute to the economy that will support the pension fund, and where else would you find people willing to flip burgers and change tyres?

What happens when all those kids get older and there are even more old people so that we need even more younger people to be working to look after them? It's a downward spiral and needs to stop somewhere.

I wish I shared your optimism Floyd, but I have a gut feeling that the kids will be brought up to exploit the state as is currently being done. Nobody in this life is owed anything, it's a dog eat dog world and you have to earn your place in it. It's a harsh but true reality (for most of the population anyway).

Benefits should be reduced to £1 a day (or ideally nothing) after 3 months with no work. Once work is found, you have to pay back 50% of all benefits. Amen.

Mmm - I wonder what the total contribution of the family will be to the public purse versus what they have taken out of it. Add in the police and prison costs and unless one of them takes over from Cherie Blair, I'll put money on them being a net drain.

The law needs to be changed. I seem to remember commenting on this some time ago. If a couple decide to have a child, then that child should be supported, in the same was as it would be today,by the state. A subsequent second child should also be supported, but at 50% of the cost to the state of the first.

ANY further child should be the sole responsibility of the parent(s) and receive no benefit whatsoever from the state.

Scum like that should get out and get a job, any job, even if it's only stacking shelves in a supermarket but when the Government sanctions benefit payments of such large amounts what incentive has a person got to drag themselves away from Trisha or Murder,she wrote and go and work for it?

Why do you think the government pay child allowance/credit? Even to working parents? It's to encourage people to have more children for the reasons stated. Get with the programme!
