Well, yes, but wait a mo for this particular reason.

An hour ago I was just having a quick look at those last minute holiday sites.

Spontaneity, I like it.

Although 5 nights is just NOT enough.
not for the 22 hr flight each way anyway.

I think you'll find summers just about finished now.

When I left in February the storms were starting to come in....

Thanks guys.

£1500 for two. I jut said sod it, I never do anything like this.

5 nights not including travel.

Hope to go to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo on Wednesday. Pix of 'Agro' to follow!

I agree, for effectively 48 hours sat on a plan 1 week isnt enough, but thats all the time I've got so I would rather see Aus for 5 days than not at all.

Any recommendations of things I should see/do or buy?

cheers
brett

Shame you aint got time to fly out to Heron Island... Paradise
(Flights from Gladstone just south of Brisbane)

Umm the "Woolshed" was quite interesting.
All the differing wools and where they come from.
Trained sheep, funny as ****..
(I'm from a farming background anyway)

and I suppose being as you have only five days you may as well cram in the "Lone Pine" Koala sanctuary.

Andy

Theres a place called the Woolshed in Cairns too, though it's more of a strip club then a sheep/wool museum.

Anyway grats on the trip, I thought about doing it for a week once when another trip fell through. I couldn't find any cheap flights at the time so I went to Prague/Slovakia for a week instead.

I had to go surfing for the club the woolshed, cant believe I missed that whilst I was there.
By the looks of the map I spent a few evenings less than a block away in an Irish pub (O'reillys) dam dam dam.

5 days is mad.! I went to mexico for a week a couple years ago, the flight was too long for the time spent there.

Well, what can I say? Was 5 days enough? Hell No!! But then again 5 weeks wouldn't have been long enough either.

However..I would go again if the oppurtunity arose even for a single day. yes the flight was horrible stuck in cattle class for that long but what a country!

A few pix.

People too couldn't have been friendlier and helpful to us Pom tourists. And there I was, what with all the recent sporting events, ready to receive some Pom bashing.

In fact, I'd say you're either psychotic or pretty damn lucky:

I'm going to go with pretty damn lucky on this one I think.

The week before our 5 days QLD was hit by some pretty bad tropical storms and then this hits 'em.

Glad to see no one has been killed and only a handful of minor injuries.

cheers
