Ringtone Copyright
Rather than paying Jamster 3 sheets for a ring tone whats to stop me ripping my fave tune to the p.c. and then use the 1st 10 secs as a ring tone, should the Stone Roses be getting 0.001p everytime my phone rings??

I hope this isn't illegal - as it's what I do if I want a musical ring tone .

Nobody cares. I mean how many people record from the T.V. ? If you read the copyright notice before or after any broadcast, they deem it illegal to copy their work in 'ANY' way. So why sell VCR, Recordable DVD etc in the shops
As long as you are not making any financial gain, i'm sure they won't be knocking down your door for using a 30 second sample on a phone

I think the technolgy exists for cutting out mid sections of tunes - someone else will tell you how

I have an mp3 splitter program, I have a new ringtone nearly every day hahaha. "Cool Mp3 Splitter" - nice simple and straightforward just play thru and cut where u want to make your ringtone from.
