I thought it was slang for 'Salmon and Trout' = snout. i.e. tobacco, cigarettes.

Round are way, the salmon line was deemed to be a reference to trips But cockerknee rhyming slang and northerners go together like rockport boots and nice people...

The other song lines were something to do with the beneficial use of the recreational liver anyhilating drug Ecstasy, characterising the drug and promoting its use to the youth of the day.
The Shamen denied its drug references and so the radio played away, freely advertising the drug.
East 17 came on the radio not long after and the lead singer said he'd popped a few E's in his time and was castigated from radio stations across the land
Anyhoo Eeeeezer good is a classic tune that reminds me of a misspent summer back in 92
