Need some ideas: work away day!!
Hi,
Everyone in my department have deceided that the time has come for all of us to have an away day. We have all been asked for suggestions and we are all going to discuss it on Monday
Have any of you had an office day out that you enjoyed??
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Out department is in London so we probably can't drift too far!
Thanks

A mutually convenient pub is best, get pi55ed and see people for what they really are... After excelling at "spot the ******", "spit in the bosses drink" and beating all-comers at pool, you can shy off to be with your real mates...
Novel days out should be kept back to spend with your real mates also...

How about doing something community spirited? Contact a local charity and see if they need something doing that a team could tackle - painting, gardening - anything like that. Could be a laugh and do some real good too.

I had a "Team Building" day in my last job. It consisted of bacon rolls on arrival at the hotel, quad biking, laser clays and blindfolded Landy driving which was a bit scary.
It was a good day out though and relatively cheap.

We went hover crafting on land - it was fabulous!!!!
I think they also do other stuff like clay pigeon shooting, archery etc at the same place and can sort out the day for you - it's only down the M4...

Awaydays?
Had our first ever awayday on Friday, Horse racing at Sandown. Esher train station is on the back of the course, a 10 min walk away from the Grandstand. £183 per person, for a private box in the grandstand, 3 course meal, free booze.
Now, I have never been horse racing, dont watch horse racing, never wanted to go horse racing, but you know what? It was bloody fantastic! Its amazing what a couple of quid on a horse does for your enjoyment factor.
After 4 races I was £15 up, so I went nuts on race 5, ( In my defence i was half way threw my second bottle of red ) put all my winnings on the fav at 3-1. Bugger lost by a short head, although he was 15 lenghts back with half the course to go, so i blame the jockey!
Do it, its a great day out.
Highlights? Probably my secretary saying to me after the horses had run 1.5 laps of the race course " have they started yet, or are they warming up?"
That and the totty on show!

Karting at http://www.theraceway.net/ - just behind Kings Cross, it's the largest indoor track in the UK (apparently)
...And then on to Browns
