Not sure where to put this thread so here will have to do.
I have a Sony P910i which I think is a great phone for its features. However I have two problems with it.
First of all, by Sony's own admission, the Bluetooth Handsfree Profile is not fully implemented (i.e. it can make calls but not receive them) and how pants is that!
Secondly I do not find this phone, or its predecessor the P900 as stable as it could be.
I have had to do a software rebuild of the 910i, the first time I did it Sony said the phone was not repairable after repeated error messages.
So, my question is, what other phones could I use?
My required features are
Bluetooth (that works!)
Email (mostly pick up and read)/GPRS
Camera
SMS
Calculator
Decent web access (I use Opera on the 910)
Other features such as MP3 would be nice.
Thanks in anticipation of your help

That was my plan - however will they fix the Bluetooth Headset/Handsfree profile and the reliability as both the P900 and the P910 are a bit fragile!
Other than that it looks like a great phone!

I've just got the P900 - upgraded with a version of P910 firmware to use large mem cards etc & Total IRRemote, smartmovie, HandyTools, AvantGo, BibleReader, Blueeyes, Opera & loads of other software & games etc installed I wouldn't say I found mine fragile...
I do have to watch the memory & close progs down sometimes but overall I'm very pleased with it
The main thing I want in the P990 is the 2Meg camera!
- All that kit in a unit I can comfortably carry in my (cargo pants) trouser pocket
Fantastic!

I agree it is fantastic - however even with the latest firmware upgrade the Bluetooth profile is still wrong.
All users of P900s that I know - have had to have the handset replaced or some serious work done to fix it. I am glad that you are lucky not to have experienced this.
With my P910i when it started going wrong - Sony themselves said it had to be replaced - just out of warranty. It was only by doing my own firmware build that got it going again.
They are great devices - if only the Bluetooth worked as spec!

I have the P910i and I'm very happy with it but don't use the BT a great deal so not sure exactly the problem you are having. I am waiting for the P990i for my next phone.

If you want to be different and dont mine the style
Treo 650 or i believe 700 now
one button out of the box email
internet browsing one of the best browsers going, specially developed and written
camera
bluetooth
mp3 player
touch screen
takes sd cards so big mem capacity
and thousands of free Palm applications
I have a 600, and i,m seriously tempted to back to it

sorry Rannoch - I missed your emphasis on Bluetooth...
The bluetooth is more compromised with the P900 to P910 firmware (P905) - apparently they then don't work with SE BT headsets...
I only use BT for Opera browsing when PC is in use by somebody else (I have found Mrouter3 http://developer.intuwave.com/Downloads is brilliant for auto-connecting phone to PC) - and the odd SMan Bluejack - very rarely catch anyone out with current phones though
The are some good reviews on P990 but it seems as though they are still tweaking the OS and firmware... - but it will eventually do what it says on the tin I'm sure I'm sure I won't be getting one for another 2 years or so though - when they get to the price of the P900s now
all the best with your quest anyway
Mick

Thanks for that Mick - I will check out the Mrouter3 as the BT connection to my Vaio is dodgy at best.
I will look into getting a 990 when they come out - fortunately I am likely to get a free upgrade - unfortunately I have BIG mobile bills!! Mostly business though
