Porridge - Flatulence?
Howdy,
I've just changed my diet slightly so my breakfast is now a nice warm bowl of porridge instead of Muesli. Although it seems to keep my brain working for longer throughout the day I now suffer from bad wind, like every 10mins and it porper annoying!
Does anyone else experience the same when they eat porridge and if so, what's the cure (without stopping eating the stuff).
Looking for an answer soon as I'm rapidly loosing work colleagues!

Porridge shouldn't give you wind. Are you sure you don't have a slight dairy intolerance ? eg. The milk used in the making of the porridge? I have porridge quite often and never get windypoops !

oooow yuck! you must be Scottish right???
Porridge tastes bad enough without sugar but to make it with water and salt then add salt on top must make it absolutely dire

Big Den is obviously not really Scottish as only Sassenachs spell it as porridge!
It is actually porage and it should be eaten in cold in slices having been made with water and salt the night before.
Back on topic - it may well be lactose intolerance - although if that was true you would have suffered before when you had meusli.
If you are lactose intolerant then anything over around 150ml can cause flatulence.

the worst is... If you like 'English porridge' and you go to Scotland - and unknowingly scoop up a large bowlfull of 'Scottish salted porage' then pour Golden syrup and milk all over it That really is disgusting!

I'll never live down the shame of once (long ago in my yooff) buying "Tinned" porridge. My father went on and on and on and on and ..............
Hence I can now make a pretty mean bowl of the splodgy stuff.

I gave it a go today without using milk and I did far fewer farts than normal... in fact I can count on one hand how many times I did.
Looks like the milk was causing my problems..
