Best contact lenses to wear
As above really, i am after the best lenses available on the market at the moment. Dont really care how much they cost cos you only get one pair of eyes.. I preferably want a high moisture content. Any ideas or pointers would be most welcomed.
Thanks

I have just started to wear daily disposeables. Excellent so far, but my god its a pain putting them in and taking them out for the first few weeks.
A months supply is £22 from specsavers.

I use Focus dailies. I buy a years supply in one go from www.contactlens.co.uk as you save a packet buying in bulk.

There are different sorts, daily replacement lenses, lenses you take out nightly and clean, replace every 2 to 4 weeks, or even the newest which you can leave in all the time for 2 weeks, even up to 4 weeks I've heard. The newest ones you leave in full time actually allow the same quantity of oxygen to get to the eye as if wearing no lenses, so enlarging of the blood vessels in the eye, making you look bloodshot, doesn't happen anymore.
Contact lenses from different manufactureres are not identical and the shape of eyes varies from person to person. Therefore the only was of knowing which is right for you is to go to an optometrist and try a few different ones out. He/she is trained in contact lens fitment and will tell you what the most appropriate lenses are for you.
Nobody here can tell you what the best lenses are for you, only an optometrist can do that.

I wear contact lenses from Spec Savers that you leave in for 4 weeks. I sleep in them, swim in them, pretty much do everything in them. I have tried many other types but for me these are the best.
Not everyone can wear them, so my advice would be to first speak with the professionals and ask what type of lenses would be most suitable to you.

As has been said, get down to your opticians and take their advice.
They will do a contact lens eye test and should pop a pair in for you to try for an hour.
Personally, I use the Johnson & Johnson Acuvue dailies.
There's no messing about with solutions and I find them really comfortable.
Dailies are also good if, like me, you do not intend wearing contacts everyday.
Watch prices for dailies and extended wear lenses though.
My optician charges £145 for 90 pairs of Acuvue.
Tesco opticians only charge £90 ordered online and posted for free.
Even paying for the opticians check up examination Tesco still work out cheaper! (note: I think the law has changed and you may now need to have a 6 monthly check up as a contact lens wearer)
Can't say I fancy the extended wear ones which you leave in overnight but pleanty of people use them without problems.
Good luck!
