Default Gas Suppliers

Currently paying about 130 quid a month for Gas and Electric with British Gas, is it worth moving suppliers or are they all similar, i.e. mostly down to the wholesale price going up, I went on a website and London Energy came out tops claiming to be able to save me 570 quid a year.

Any Thoughs.

This should get moved
But I've also done the Uswitch thing, and London Energy came up as the cheapest too.

Was about to change, but will await any further comments

TAXI Although 130 quid a month seems a little harsh unless you are running an 8 bedroom mansion

Suppose that 6kw setup of hydroponic lights running 24/7 in the attic will bump up the bill a bit

£130/month!!!! Shít! No wonder British Gas are still here when they have you to support them.

4 Bed detached, cavity wall insulated and have mainly double gazing and energy saving lights, I think the p1ss is being taken somewhere along the line, problem is that we have 3 kids and all the associated washing etc, so that means a washer and dryer going a lot of the time, we have a dishwasher so that bumps it up plus the buggers leave lights, pc's, Xboxes and all sorts running.

Like the comment about the loft, if only !

Miss Kinky, how do you find Atlantic, customer service any good, a few years ago I went with one called Amerada and they were useless so went back to BG even though they were dearer, at least you get to speak to somebody efficient to sort stuff out, its just to expensive now though, need to look into cheaper alternatives or buy a new pullover !

you sure its not the gas side of your bill thats not bumping things up? E saving lights are only 15w and your average washer dryer is only a kw or so.

It's not rocket science Jacko. I'm here at home all day and leave the heating on when I go out. Lights, pc's, tv's all on most of the time.

£85/month approx and that is with 2 fairly recent hikes.

I've enjoyed an excellent service with BG, but it's purely that I won't justify the 22% price rise.
I don't want to get locked into a fixed term with them becasue, IMHO, you'll still be screwed - just later on (lulling you into a false sense of security with the prices, then stinging you when your term's over)

I don't mind paying slightly more per month (tracking the price rise, albeit cheaper!), as it won't hurt so much when it all levels out.

It's just a question of who to go with.......

London Energy are looking good at the moment (on paper) - anybody had any experiences with them?
