Just wondering if anyone's got any experience with paying a fee to use commercial quality music / songs with their websites / multi-media cd presentations.

I'm curious as to how much I'd need to pay to play the opening 20secs of a song on a website / cd I'm doing for a customer.

Try the Performing Right Society:

http://www.prs.co.uk/

I believe they control allowing people to play music in shops, coaches etc, etc...
